When you contact Clinique Alpa for a home visit, we aim to see you on the same day. For requests received in the morning, Dr Parmar can typically visit in the afternoon. For urgent situations — particularly involving elderly or vulnerable patients — we will prioritise accordingly.
The visit itself is a comprehensive GP consultation. Dr Parmar brings his medical bag and conducts the same thorough assessment you would receive at our clinic: a full history, targeted examination, diagnosis, and management plan. Prescriptions are issued during the visit, referral letters are written on the same day, and if blood tests are needed, these can often be arranged at the time of the visit or for the following morning.
From Our Practice: When Pain Makes Travelling Impossible
We recently received a call from a patient experiencing severe endometriosis pain. Her MRI had confirmed endometriosis on the uterus and a cyst on the left ovary, and her specialist appointment was not for another three weeks. The night before, she had been awake all night with the worst pain she had ever experienced — severe enough that her ribs were hurting from the muscle tension.
She had co-codamol at home, but it was not controlling the pain. Naproxen had been tried previously and was ineffective. She could not face travelling to a clinic or sitting in a waiting room. A home visit — or in this case a telephone consultation with immediate prescription delivery — allowed Dr Parmar to assess her symptoms, prescribe mefenamic acid as an alternative anti-inflammatory, send the prescription directly to her local pharmacy for immediate collection, and provide clear safety-netting advice about when to attend hospital for intravenous pain relief.
