Private GP care, wherever you are
A virtual consultation gives you proper time with a GP without travelling to a clinic. It suits busy people, parents, anyone working from home, and anyone who would simply rather be seen somewhere private and comfortable.
The appointment is a proper clinical consultation, not a rushed call. We take a careful history, talk through your concerns, and agree a clear plan with you. That might be a referral, a fit note, further tests, self care advice, or simply reassurance. With your consent, we send a short summary to your NHS GP so your records stay joined up.
Who this is for
Online consultations suit most everyday problems: new symptoms that do not obviously need an examination, reviews of ongoing treatment, results, referrals and second opinions. Children can be seen too, where clinically suitable, with a parent or guardian present.
They are not right for emergencies, or for problems that clearly need a physical examination. If you are not sure, book the 15 minute appointment and the GP will tell you plainly which route is right. This is private healthcare and it sits alongside your NHS care. It does not replace your NHS GP.

You are sent a secure video link, or a call time for telephone. Upload any documents in advance if they are relevant.
Speak to your GP
Have your unhurried consultation. We assess what can be assessed remotely and agree a plan.
Get your documents
Any fit note, referral letter or written summary that is appropriate after assessment follows promptly by email.
When an online appointment is not the right choice
We will tell you plainly if your problem needs to be seen in person. Some things need a hands on examination, and a few medicines cannot be prescribed remotely. Where that is the case, we will say so and direct you to the appropriate service. In-person appointments are expected to resume from 24 August 2026.

- Some examinations and certain medicines need an in person appointment.

Frequently asked questions
How much is an online GP consultation?
A video or telephone consultation is £65 for 15 minutes or £79.99 for 30 minutes. Payment is taken securely when you book.
Can I get a same day appointment?
Same day appointments may be available, subject to availability. Book online to see the next available time, or call us on 020 8882 8088.
Can the doctor issue a private prescription online?
If medication is one of the appropriate options, your GP will discuss this during the consultation and explain the safest next steps. We do not guarantee prescriptions and we do not provide medicines on demand. Our prescribing policy explains how these decisions are made.
Can I get a sick note, fit note or referral letter?
Where clinically appropriate after assessment, yes. Fit notes, medical letters and referral letters can be issued following your consultation. Fees are on our appointments and fees page.
What do I need for a video appointment?
A phone, tablet or computer with a camera and a stable connection, in a quiet, private space. You are sent a secure link to join.
Can children have an online consultation?
Yes, where clinically suitable. A parent or guardian must be present throughout the consultation. If the GP feels your child needs to be seen in person, we will say so and direct you to the right service.
What if my problem needs an examination?
We will say so. Some things need to be seen and felt in person. During our sabbatical period the GP will direct you to the appropriate service for that. In person appointments at Clinique Alpa are expected to resume from 24 August 2026.
Is the consultation confidential?
Yes. Consultations take place over a secure video or telephone connection and your records are held confidentially. We share nothing without your consent, unless the law or patient safety requires it. With your consent, we send a short summary to your NHS GP so your records stay joined up.
