What it is

The right protection for where you are going

Different destinations carry different risks. A short conversation about your trip lets us advise you properly, rather than giving everyone the same list.

We check your vaccination history, look at where you are going and what you will be doing, and follow current travel health guidance. We then advise on the vaccinations and boosters you need, and give most of them at the same appointment.

What we offer

Common travel vaccinations

Hepatitis A and B

Protection against hepatitis A and B, common considerations for many destinations.

Typhoid

Recommended for travel to parts of Asia, Africa and South America.

Tetanus, diphtheria and polio

A combined booster, often due if your last one was some years ago.

Rabies

Considered for longer trips and rural travel where animal contact is more likely.

Japanese encephalitis

Advised for some trips to rural Asia, depending on the season and your plans.

Cholera and others

Cholera and other vaccines as your destination and activities require.

Yellow fever and malaria

Some destinations require a yellow fever certificate. Yellow fever can only be given at a registered yellow fever centre, so we advise you on whether you need it and help you arrange it where required.

We also advise on malaria prevention and the practical precautions that matter as much as any vaccine, such as insect bite avoidance, food and water safety, and what to do if you fall ill while away.

Frequently asked questions

How does a travel appointment work?

Tell us where you are going and what you will be doing. We check your vaccination history, follow current travel health guidance, and advise on the vaccinations and boosters you need. Most can be given at the same appointment.

Which travel vaccinations do you offer?

Common travel vaccines including hepatitis A and B, typhoid, tetanus, diphtheria and polio, rabies, Japanese encephalitis and cholera, among others, depending on your destination.

Do you give the yellow fever vaccine?

Yellow fever can only be given at a registered yellow fever centre. We advise you on whether your destination requires it and help you arrange it at a registered centre where needed.

When should I come in?

Ideally 4 to 6 weeks before you travel, so there is time for courses and boosters to take effect. We can still help if your trip is sooner, so do come in.

How much do travel vaccinations cost?

It depends on your destination and what you need. We confirm the cost at your appointment. Full pricing is on our appointments and fees page.
