Is this right for me

Who it suits

Adults aged 18 and over who want a doctor to explain whether this kind of treatment is suitable for the change they have noticed. It is for people who can accept that any change, if it happens, is gradual and uncertain. An immediate change in shape is a different conversation.

Who should not have it

Anyone under 18, anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding, and anyone wanting an immediate change in shape. It is also unsuitable if you have an infection in the area, or if you cannot attend for the reviews a later plan might need. The doctor will say if your history makes this approach a poor fit.

At 466 Green Lanes

The consultation

The doctor explains the idea in plain language, the number of visits that might be needed, and the uncertainty of the result. The examination is face to face at 466 Green Lanes. Alternatives, including no treatment, are discussed. A cooling off period follows the consultation. Nothing is injected at this visit.

On the day

A discussion, not a procedure, at the first visit. You should leave knowing what the treatment is intended to do, what it cannot do, and what would count as a reason to stop. The doctor does not show you a predicted after photograph of your own face. Any later plan is written so you can reread it.

What follows

Consultation, cooling off, then a decision

  1. Consultation

30 minutes with a doctor. £100, paid upfront. No treatment at this visit.

  2. Cooling off

Time to think. You can decide against treatment, and there is no pressure to book.

  3. Treatment, if you go ahead

Priced and agreed with you first. The consultation fee is redeemed against it.

Honestly

Aftercare and risks

Aftercare

If a later treatment is agreed, aftercare is given in writing, including what swelling to expect and when to contact the clinic. Reviews are part of that plan, because a change can take weeks to appear and may be small. If you decide against treatment, no aftercare for a procedure is needed, and that decision is respected.

Risks

Nodules, swelling, bruising and disappointment with the degree of change are among the risks. A result is not guaranteed, and more visits do not promise a larger change. The doctor explains how a lump or an uneven area would be assessed. Nothing on this page is described as natural, painless or permanent.

Before you come

What to prepare

  • What you have already tried, including previous injections if you had them
  • A list of medicines and any tendency to form thick scars
  • Whether you can return for review if a later plan needs it
  • Questions about uncertainty. No injection is given at the consultation
