Honest access

What same day means here.

Plenty of clinics promise you will always be seen the same day. We would rather be straight with you.

Most days we can offer a same day appointment, but it always depends on availability on the day. Our diary is live, so when you book you see what is genuinely free today. If today is fully booked, you see the next available time instead of a promise nobody checked.

If you would rather speak to someone first, our telephone line is available 24 hours a day on 020 8882 8088.

The appointment itself is a proper consultation, not a rushed one — you can read more about our private GP services. You are seen face to face at the clinic, and our doctors offer home visits for those who cannot travel.

This is private healthcare and it works alongside your NHS GP, it does not replace them. Clinique Alpa is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), and every consultation is with a GMC registered doctor.

What we can help with

What same day GP care can help with.

01

Everyday illness

Coughs, colds, sore throats, sinus and urinary symptoms, and the problems that will not wait quietly for a routine appointment.

02

Skin problems

Rashes, bites, infections and flare ups. You can share photographs securely before the appointment so the GP can see what you see.

03

Children and family

Advice for a poorly child, with clear guidance on what to watch for and when to seek urgent help.

04

Mental health and stress

Low mood, anxiety and stress. A proper conversation, with time to talk and a clear plan for what happens next.

05

Results and reports

A review of blood tests, scans or letters you already have, with a considered explanation of what they actually mean.

06

Work and travel

Advice before you travel, workplace health queries, and the niggles that are getting in the way of your week.

Emergencies are different

When not to wait for an appointment.

Some symptoms should not wait for any GP appointment, ours included. Call 999 or go to A&E now if you or someone with you has any of the signs listed here.

If it is urgent but not life threatening, NHS 111 can direct you, day or night. And if you book with us and the GP believes you need emergency care, they will say so plainly and direct you to the right service.

  • 01

Severe chest pain or pressure, or sudden difficulty breathing.

  • 02

Signs of a stroke, such as a drooping face, slurred speech, or weakness in an arm or leg.

  • 03

Heavy bleeding that will not stop.

  • 04

A sudden, severe headache unlike anything before.

  • 05

A seizure, or a child who is unusually drowsy, floppy or hard to wake.

Before you book

Frequently asked questions.

How quickly can I be seen?

Often the same day, subject to availability. Our diary is live, so when you book you see exactly what is free today. If today is fully booked you are shown the next available time rather than a vague promise. We would rather be straight with you than promise a same day appointment we cannot deliver.

Can I be seen in person?

Yes. Every appointment is face to face — at our Palmers Green clinic, or at home for those who cannot travel. If your problem needs something beyond a GP appointment, the GP will say so plainly and direct you to the right option.

How much does a same day GP appointment cost?

A 30 minute in-clinic consultation is £100 and a 60 minute home visit, Monday to Friday, is £250; at weekends, between 9am and 7pm, home visits are £325 an hour. A follow-up appointment within 14 days is £90. Payment is taken securely when you book.

Can I get a fit note or a referral letter the same day?

Fit notes, medical letters and referral letters can be issued where clinically appropriate after assessment, and where they are agreed during a same day appointment they usually follow by email promptly. They are never guaranteed. Fees are on our appointments and fees page.

Do I need to be registered with the clinic to book?

No. Anyone in the UK can book. This is private healthcare and it does not replace your NHS GP. With your consent we send a short summary of the consultation to your NHS GP so your records stay joined up.

What do I need for the appointment?

Just yourself. Have a note of anything you take regularly to hand, and bring any recent test results or letters if you have them.

What if my problem is an emergency?

Call 999 now rather than booking. Severe chest pain, difficulty breathing, signs of a stroke and heavy bleeding are emergencies. If it is urgent but not life threatening, NHS 111 can direct you day or night. If something urgent emerges during a consultation, the GP will send you straight to the right emergency service.
