Is this right for me

Who it suits

Adults aged 18 and over who want that option assessed by a doctor, and who understand that the evidence for a cosmetic change is limited. It can be a reasonable conversation for someone who wants the uncertainties explained before deciding. It is not a test that proves a treatment will work for you.

Who should not have it

Anyone under 18, anyone with a blood or platelet disorder until their own doctor has advised, and anyone who cannot give a blood sample. It is also unsuitable in pregnancy, if there is infection at the site, or if you want a particular change in hair or skin promised before you are seen. The doctor will decline the procedure when the history makes it inappropriate.

The doctor explains the blood draw, how the sample is prepared, where it might be placed, and what the evidence does and does not show. The consultation is face to face at 466 Green Lanes. Treatment is not done at this visit. If a later procedure is even worth considering, you have time to decide, and you can decide against it.

On the day

A face to face explanation at the Palmers Green clinic, with time for questions about discomfort, the number of sessions sometimes discussed, and the chance of little or no visible change. The doctor does not quote a success rate for you as an individual. Any later appointment is separate from this consultation.

Aftercare and risks

Aftercare

Aftercare is agreed only if a later treatment is booked. That note covers the blood draw site, the treated skin or scalp, and the symptoms that should prompt contact. Bruising is common. If the decision is not to proceed, you leave with that decision recorded and no procedure aftercare to follow.

Risks

Bruising at the blood draw, discomfort, infection and little or no visible change are the main risks to understand. There is also a risk of expecting a result the evidence does not support. The doctor does not describe the procedure as painless, and does not promise hair growth or a change in skin quality.

  • If treatment goes ahead later, the fee is redeemed against the cost of that treatment.
  • The consultation is not the treatment. No filler, lines and wrinkles, skin quality, collagen stimulator or platelet rich plasma treatment is performed at this visit.
  • Any treatment is arranged later, after a cooling off period.
