Assessment before treatment

The policy requires a clinician-led medical and medication history, examination of the proposed treatment site, relevant investigations and specialist advice where indicated. A decision must be documented before each treatment. Booking or requesting PRP does not establish suitability.

Conditions that need particular consideration

Screening explicitly addresses HIV/AIDS, blood malignancy, local skin cancer, hepatitis C, cardiovascular disease, and anticoagulant or antiplatelet treatment, alongside broader contraindications and precautions.

Consent, safety and accountability

The full policy distinguishes absolute treatment stops from relative precautions and specifies informed consent, infection prevention, product traceability, escalation, documentation, staff responsibilities, audit and document review. The full document contains the detailed criteria and references; this page is a summary.

The policy sets the required standard. Its publication does not itself establish that an individual is suitable for treatment.
